After I wrote that posting about a deaf female artist who was
allegedly involved with a murder case, I am wondering if you have
heard any more murder case that involved a deaf person? I know
there was a deaf victim in South Wales a few years ago (although I
don't know much about it. If you do, please tell).

Anyone?

Peter Jackson has a new book out now - Deaf Crime Casebook - containing over
20 stories of crimes committed by and against Deaf people including Dyson
infanticide (1830), George Roberts murder case (1953), Suzanne Greenhill
murder (1987) and Porno-cinema arson murders (1994).

This book is the first in a SERIES! So better get it from

Cox and Jackson
30 Elmwood Grove

Cash with order - £11.55. (Cheque/PO payable to Cox and Jackson)

Have I been helpful?

Raymond.

There is a articles in WalesHI - Autumn 1997 from Jacqueline Moore - "The
Tim Robson trail" - Interesting view and give a culture shock being the
murder trail for a deafie !!!... It is a personal view.....

Jacqueline Moore, Editor (from Wales Council for the Deaf's WalesHi
magazine) did mention about a deaf murderer is being manhandled by a group
of solicitors and barristers. Jacqueline is the sole deaf wintess for the
case for murder, the group of solicitors and bannisters - all hearie and
saying that she is not needed for this case - have a look for that
articles.....

Porno-cinema arson murders? Was that the one where someone
caused the fire which caused an uproar in the gay community? I
didn't realised that a deaf person was involved. How so? Or should
I order the book myself, eh?

As always. I hope I'll do the same for you one day.

As the joke went at the time:

- Why did the Deaf man set fire to that porn cinema?

- He was upset at the lack of subtitles.

That still cracks me up, that one. Still on the murder theme, two
deaf chaps I know (one of them a top mate) lived - onimous clang! -
only two doors away in Gloucester from Fred and Rosemary West...

Yours, in the kitchen with a spanner,

JR

*Yes, the very thing you mentioned. He was sentenced to life imprisonment. I
have just ordered the book myself - you and others should if only for the
sake of having information ready on your bookshelf at home!

Actually, one of them (not the top one) went to a barbeque party thrown
on by Fred West. Gruesome, innit! Esp when you don't know why they were
generous with the food...I mean where did the meat comes from?
