We all suffer from the problem of trying to listen to individual conversations
in noisy environments. One possible solution would be to use a directional
microphone feeding into a neck loop.
Possible microphone types would be a paraboloid reflector or a "shotgun" microphone.
Has anyone tried either of these? There seems to be absolutely nothing available
commercially. I have tried to construct a paraboloid, but the microphone I have
been trying to place at the focus is too grotty - it really needs a cardiod one
to eliminate the background, but I don't want to start spending too much money
until I know more about what I am up to.
