Sir Ronald Ellis, Kt, BSc, Chairman, EIDC Ltd, 1981-93, died 10
November, 2005. He was aged 80.

He was born 12 August, 1925, the son of William Ellis and Besse
Brownbill, and was educated at Preston Grammar School; Manchester
University (BSc Tech Hons 1949) FIMechE 1949; FCIT 1975; FREng (FEng
1981).

Director of corporate development, Wilkinson Sword Group, 1981-82;
President and Managing Director, Industrial Division, 1982-85, Director
International Group, 1981-86, Allegheny International Director: Yarrow
and Co, 1981-86; Redman Heenan International, 1981-86; Bull Thompson
Associates, 1987-89; IDRH Ltd 1987-89; R.L. Holdings Ltd, 1989-90;
Vice-President, SMMT, 1972-73; Director, ROFs, 1976-81; Governor,

He was knighted in 1978.

Sir Ronald married firstly in 1956, Cherry Hazel Brown, by whom he had
one son and one daughter. His first wife died in 1978; married
secondly, 1979, Myra Ann Royle.
