Laurie Mansfield, his manager for 37 years, called him "the last of the
great slapstick comedians".
Drake died in his sleep at a nursing home in Twickenham, west London.
He leaves three sons.
He was the very first childrens entertainer I saw on television in
1953. Mick and Montmorency. Always thought his partner was Arthur
Mullard but when I was able to check I found I'd been wrong all those
years.
