Douglas Livingstone was born on May 23, 1934 in Dagenham, Essex, England as Douglas Ian Livingstone. He was a writer and actor, known for Boys from the Bush (1991), Mistress of Suspense (1990) and The Impossible Spy (1987). He was married to Anne Carroll. He died on April 19, 2021.

His scripts in the early 1970s for the BBC Play for Today strand included I Can’t See My Little Willie and Everybody Say Cheese
