The Lady Moore of Lower Marsh, who died from cancer, 9 June 2008, was
the wife of the life baron the Lord Moore of Lower Marsh, PC (Life
Baron 1992). She was the former Sheila Sarah Tillotson, daughter of
Richard Tillotson, of Illinois, United States, and married the then
John Edward Michael Moore, in 1962. Her husband was Conservative MP
for Croydon Central, 1974-92 (Sworn of the Privy Council, 1986) and
served as a Secretary of State for Transport in the Thatcher
administration 1986-87, and for Health, Social Services and Social
Security, 1986-89. She was the mother of Stephanie, Martin and
Richard, mother-in-law of David, Jo and Emma, and grandmother of
Oliver, Lucas, Tabitha, Robert, James and Milo. After a private
cremation there will be a Memorial Service to celebrate her memory to
which all family and friends are invited, on Thursday 19th June 2008,
at Cannizaro House, Wimbledon.
