His elder brother Mark was also a Life Peer (and was married to Leslie
Nast, daughter of the publisher Conde Nast, and former wife of the 2nd
Baron St. Just whose 2nd wife was the actress Maria Britney nee
Britneva). His brother-in-law (husband of his sister Laura) Jo
Grimond was also a Life Peer; one of their sons John Grimond (a
former newspaper editor) is married to a daughter of Peter Fleming
(brother of Ian, of James Bond fame) and the actress Celia Johnson.
[For more on their aristocratic and theatrical-literary-political
connections, check Fleming in Burke's LG or some messages on
alt.talk.royalty].

Quite a record for this family (the mother a Life Peeress, her father
a peer of first creation, one of her brothers another Life Peer;
elder son a Life Peer, younger daughter married to a Life Peer). And
perhaps, another nephew Sir Adam Ridley may be elevated to a Life
Peerage if he is lucky....
