Edmund Rawlings Heward, CB, who died at Woolwich, 11 December, 2006,
aged 94, was Chief Master of the Supreme Court (Chancery Division)
1980-85 (Master 1959-79). His many publications include _Lord Denning:
A Biography_ (1990); _Masters in Ordinary_ (1991); _The Great and the
Good: a Life of Lord Radcliffe_ (1995); _A Victorian Law Reformer: The
life of Lord Selborne_(1998); _Lives of the Judges: Jessel, Cairns,
Bowen and Bramwell_ (2001), etc.... *****
