Kenneth Graham Jupp was born 2 June, 1917, the son of Albert Leonard
Jupp by his wife Marguerite Isabel, and was educated at Perse School,
Cambridge, and University College, Oxford; MA Oxon [War Degree] 1945.
Career: joined the army in 1939 and saw service in France, Belgium,
North Africa and in Italy, 1939-43; War Office Selection Board,
1943-6; Called to the Bar and Lincoln's Inn, 1945, Bencher, 1973; QC
1966; Deputy Chairman, Cambridge and Isle of Ely Quarter Sessions,
1965-71; a Recorder of the Crown Court, 1972-75; Presiding Judge,
North Eastern Circuit, 1977-81; Chairman, Independent Schools
Tribunal, 1964-67; conducted MAFF inquiry into Wool Marketing Scheme,
1965; Chairman, Public inquiry into fire at Fairfield Home,
Nottingham, 1975, &c.
Jupp was awarded the Military Cross in 1943; knighted in 1975.
He married in 1947, Kathleen Elizabeth [Betty] Richards, by whom he
had two sons and two daughters, Stephen, John, Penelope, & Celia.
The funeral takes place at Ayot St Peter, on Monday 22 March, 2004.
