Can anyone tell me of any web sites where you can get tips on how best to apply
makeup. I am particularly interested in how to make my lips look fuller.
Is it best to apply the lipstick with a brush?
Do you use a differne tshade to outline the lips.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1) Have a make up demo in a large store. They are good, but you must be
prepared to spend some money on what they suggest.
2) Have a makeup lesson in a beauty salon. You may have to ring around to
make an appointment.
3) Enrol on a college course (Evening classes are great fun)
4) Get yourself invited to a make up party, where you could get some advice
(perhaps even be a model for the night)
I have tried everything except 2)
That way you get to know your own skin type, colouring, how to place the two
colourings for eyeshadow to give the best effect (No Electric blue is NOT an
in colour!), how to compensate for thick/thin lips etc, etc, etc, It really
is great fun.
All the best

I'm off to buy my own makeup tomorrow and need some tips.
When putting on lipstick, is it best from a brush or as it comes?
How do you outline your lips ... is there a pencil for this?
When applying blusher, are there any tips for making it look just right?
What brushes do I need to apply face powder, blusher and lipstick.
Can you get small brushes to use on the eye brows?
Should be an interesting visit to Boots.
Thanks,
Sarah

I always use a fine brush to delineate my lips and paint the line just
outside the natural edge and then fill in using the stick. Put one layer on
blot it on some tissue, then if you brush on some powder before adding
another layer, this usually helps it stay put, and one can get away with
using really cheap lipstick to ;)
Since I have always been an artist and into fine oil painting I have always
used my old Dalar Prolene no1 watercolour brushes, I get through a fair few
of these (I like detail) and when worn down a bit one has the perfect lip
liner :)
A powder brush is definitely better than a puff or pad in my opinion though
doesn't have to be enormous.
Don't know whether you will need much concealer or foundation? Personally I
don't use foundation Just use a bit of Max Factor Panstick where needed. But
I did spend a number of years obsessively plucking, bleaching, and using
hair remover to achieve a natural look. Saying that though I think Panstick
is about the best standard concealer, unless one has a particularly strong
shadow, then something more industrial might be in order, it's a good job
they stopped putting Lead in make-up, that's all I can say, Titanium Oxide
is a far better pigment and non toxic ;)
For eyebrows I just use a cheap Rimmel eyebrow pencil. I'm not really aware
of any other method of applying eyebrows. For eye liner you can get liquid
stuff that you apply with a brush, though after a few accidents where I
ended up with black splotches on my eyeballs. I find normal eyeliner pencils
are easier to use and the easiest way to apply a liner is just under the top
lid and then transfer to the bottom by closing the eye. Once you have a
natural line on the bottom lid it is then easy enough to add a bit more
liner to finish off.
Hope this helps :)
