Any idea on the costs to send an item to Eire?
The royal mail site is clear as mud as usual.
Its a Sky Digibox by the way so it would be a few KG and worth about 50
quid.

Europe prices apply (from memory, before the 'new improved' site!)

that's the case, but I've just tried for 5 minutes to find the parcels rate
for overseas - if it's more than 2kg then it'll have to go international
parcels or whatever they're calling it this week, which isn't in the 'Reach
The World' booklet either, but the last time I looked it wasn't cheap

If they live quite near the border it might be cheaper to have it delivered
to a mate in the North and drive up to get it

Quickest and easiest might be to contact Customer Services at Royal Mail
here:

Does that work for parcels as well? As I recall when I took a 3kg parcel in
recently for overseas (outside of Europe, admittedly) I was quoted about
£30, which is nearer 5 times the UK rate

Over 2kg it all goes weird, and VERY pricey

Yep Rep. of Ireland is "Europe".

Of course you won't because your looking on the wrong site. Parcels
are dealt with by Parcel Force not Royal Mail... I've only ever found
a phone number for Parcel Force on the Royal Mail site.

The PF site is a bit iffy, doesn't work properly or render nicely with
Mozilla.
