last night, Sunday, there seemed to be a problem with ebay. I could not
upload auctions or get Turbolister and ebay to synchronise. This morning I
can get neither the log in pages of ebay.co.uk or ebay.com to work. Other
websites seem fine.
Is anyone else experiencing this sort of problem?

All seems well this morning as far as I can see.
There was a problem over the weekend though.
Try clearing your history and cookies and then logging in again.
There was a major worldwide screw up. Huge rows on the EBay boards.
As I said in another post, ebay.co.uk has been working fine, for me, all
morning.
Yup,
its back up for me also as of 12.38.
I was getting Firefox can not find server messages vv ebay.

Same here, the only problems I experienced this weekend were the ones on the
announcement board where searches and shops went down temporarily at one
point over the weekend.

Mainly because no-one bothered reading the Ebay announcement about it.
Did you have any problems with your sales?
I did read in one announcement that ebay would compensate sellers but
I'm not quite sure how they would go about doing so.
Said announcement was some hours after the problems started. And it's
screwed up many auction results.
No but I think this would only appertain to auction items ending during the
period when there was a fault. As I am 99% buy now it did not affect me.

A couple of my items ending around 9pm Sunday went for about 100 pounds
less that I'd expected (i.e. 50 each). I hadn't noticed any problems
myself, so shrugged it off and posted them this morning. But now that
I've read this thread, I'm feeling pretty annoyed.
"Rest assured that we will assess the economic impact of the problem and
will compensate sellers appropriately. The mechanism and process for
issuing full fee credits for affected listings will be announced over
the course of the next few days."
So I guess the best we can hope for is a refund of fees. Big deal.
Many of the sellers on the US boards pulled listings early.
Oh, quite, but then he's known to be lacking a clue.
LOL. You were the one who replied to Peter yet didn't pick him up on it.
Is david your newest bestest friend?
Peter, I believe you mean clearing the cookies and possibly browsing
history.

Maybe the UK ebay server is in Cockermouth...
I know exactly what it means, and what it does. Weird things can, and do,
happen if the DNS cache has become corrupt. There are, of course, many other
possibilities many of which are much more widely known. The OP was asking
for suggestions relating to his problem not what might be happening to
others. At the time I was certainly not aware that there was a widespread
problem.

Before being allowed to discuss any of this, of course I had to answer a
few questions to confirm my identity. Then I was told that my date of
birth wasn't listed and could I update my records by telling them? No
thanks, says I. Bloody cheek, WTF do they need that for?

I've not looked for news on eBay because it didn't affect me, but I saw
this earlier which sounds rather positive:
Because they will not allow minors to have an account. Providing accurate
information, and keeping it up to date, is a quite reasonable requirement.

Not positive to me, unfortunately. My items finished Sunday evening, so
too late for the automatic refund according to that article. And as I
posted them first thing on Monday before hearing about the problem, I
was too late to cancel the sales. This is where eBay were remiss, they
did nothing to warn sellers that their recently ended auctions may have
been messed up.

Peter, I looks like it's the Albasani Wanker, morphed again - ignore
