Buying local by postcode/location

Hi All,

Similar to my last post, i always love to just `flick` for bits, is there
a way I can put in a postcode/town and ebay will return everything for sale
at that postcode or town, without the need to search for an item?

The MSE app is kinda what i like, as its collection only stuff and it saves
postage, sometimes its handy just to collect but not always sure what im
looking for util i see it!

You can specify a maximum distance of 10 miles in an advanced search.

Alternatively use the "Sort by: Distance: nearest first".

But you have to specify at least something as a search term, although
using "the" and ticking "Include description" can be expected to give a
lot of hits (almost 17 million when I tried it just now).

search term (and annoyingly, "-something" does not count as a term).

Never tried the above app before, but out of curiosity I just have; I
entered my postcode and nothing else, and the app gobbed up 202 items
within 5 miles of my postcode, ie in all ebay categories and with no
keywords entered at all. So I'm not sure what you're getting at...

I agree with you David, that's why I was confused - everything comes up
within five miles with no specified category. It is an open search returning
everything isn't it? Sure is for me!

Try the same thing again then select a category and see if the numbers
match up.
When I search for "(in, of, with, for, the, to, and, my, )" in Title and
description it finds 239 listings. It tells me that 44 of those are in
one particular category. But when I select that category, it jumps to
289 listings. Clearly the search is more thorough when you specify a
category.

Enter "everything" in the search box,
choose what category you want or none,
ten miles radius of your postcode,
items located in UK,
include title and description.

From that, I see that if were still living in Luton, I'd be swamped
with stuff from Hemel to Welwyn.

Just found this interesting post, I tried this but of course I only got
"everything" returned, from the way i was reading it, it would return
`anything` within that distance??
