Renner's a coward - he won't be back. The whole world knows who he is,
where he lives, what he sell on eBay etc. etc.. All thanks to you, ha?

It certainly is. Taking someone to court for libel is hugely expensive and
fraught with difficulties that only the very rich can get involved with. If
TOG or someone else were going ahead with such action, then I'm sure that
they'd be boasting about it here.

I'll reiterate what I said before, you must have a reputation to be
tarnished, this is Usenet hardly a huge circulation, most of us use sock
puppets not our real name. The level of compensation would be minimal and
most solicitors would advise against taking action because the level of
costs versus the potential payout are not worth it.

People who cheated sellers, as you did, killed the NG. You only have
yourself to blame. Perhaps if cunts like yourself fuck off elsewhere, then
the NG can be reclaimed by decent people.

Lawnmower Man and Spacman both cocked up big time revealing their

Perhaps LM feels a moral obligation to be Spacman's advocate, as ISTR
Spacman did the same when LM bungled up and disappeared. Oh, I mean he

Exactly so.

I'm pleased to have been able to take you out of my killfile now that
you don't have a troll to incense your posts.

This NG will thrive once again with valuable posters who are not
driven off-topic by malicious interlopers.

I'm only a tiny bit concerned about the way that Fran seems to be
escalating where Spacker left off ... there always has to be *one*,
doesn't there?

The killfiule [1] is still a useful tool.

[1] I was going to correct that typo, but it works anyway :-)

Well, Lawnmower Man was merely stupid enough to use an identity he'd
used before. Spacker was special in that (as Parry pointed out) he not
only put his postcode in the posting, but he invited all and sundry to
look at it. :-)) That was truly classic.

Didn't stop the other half of the Fracker entity from accusing everyone
of organising a witch-hunt, of course..

It means that he has registered as a business seller with eBay.
That only has an effect upon his status with eBay.

Yes, he is allowed to run a business from his home, and can actaully
claim an allowance against tax for use of part of his home for the
business.

The council would only be concerned if the majority of the use of the
premises was for business rather than as a residence.

If he is claiming benefits, then yes, they would certainly be affected
by his income from eBay sales.

Similarly, he is liable for tax on the income from eBay sales.
He may be liable for registration for VAT if his turnover is high
enough.
That's very easy for eBay traders to miss!

>Surely his neighbours know he's running a business from home?

I doubt very much that his neighbours have any idea at all about what
he's doing.
They almost certainly don't know about his libellous activity on
usenet yet.

>> All those cuddly toys, do you reckon he has a lot of young visitors?

It's an end of terrace house in a middle class suburban area.
He's got three post offices less than a mile away.
Any vehicle parked on the street might be noticeable because the
residents have driveways and/or garages.

The swimming pool might be a draw for youngsters, but not at this time
of year, I expect :-)

>Someone did a video earlier on, but i doubt it has him in it, because he
>was hiding?

I have a very large number of videos in which he is not visible.
He must be very good at hiding!

Anyway ...

Edward Renner has perpetrated a considerable number of libels against
contributors to this newsgroup, myself included.

I would be prepared to contribute towards legal action against him,
provided that my contribution would be covered by the costs awarded

You're not a salesman? You didn't hit 'Reply' instead of 'Reply Group'

You topped using ebay after you hit 'Reply' and then disappeared for a

One reply is not an escalation and I take some exception to that statement.
I replied to a comment about me, as is my right.

I still have TOG in my killfile, along with his friends, so I don't see the
vast majority of what they post, thankfully. At the moment, I don't intend

not intended to be snide, then fine, I apologise.

They are referring, I suspect, to the fact that I stated my objection to
racism, when replying to a single quoted post I saw that totally
misrepresented my actions. I've chosen to ignore by the judicious use of a
killfile the twaddle that I suspect has still been perpetrated here despite
all the supposed wishes for peace and harmony. I have had the temerity to
post on some EBay topics: dear heaven, the nerve of it.

Now, if you are choosing to interpret that as my being racist, then I am
deeply saddened and very disappointed to find you are not the person I
thought you to be. And pretty disgusted, too. Again, if you did not mean
that, my apologies for my own misinterpretation. I do actually hope that I
have misunderstood your meaning.

It was not intended to be snide.

I've read about 1200 posts in the last few days, as I've been out of
the loop for a while, and have now had the opportunity to catch up.

I did not actually see Spacker's departure, but I have seen a number
of yours since.

I was disappointed to find that the tone of your posts seems to have
amplified his attitude since his "outing", and have noted that other
posters have remarked upon this fact.

Since you seem to need to name a scapegoat - The Older Gentleman (who
is actually younger than me) is a poster whom I recognise in this and
other newsgroups.
I find his posts are often useful and informative; I suppose that I
*could* be described as his friend, although I haven't actually met
him IRL yet.

Killfile me if you will, if you wish to tar me with some kind of
supposed brush.

I haven't killfiled you yet, as you may be a useful poster in
uk.people.consumers.ebay

I have, genuinely, no idea what you are talking about. I have replied to ONE
post - yesterday, I think - that made a comment about me. I was away all
last week. Yes, I did object to what happened when he was outed, as you call
it. After that, if you check properly, you'll find I replied to some Ebay
related posts over the past weeks, but I've mostly not been around much, as
I have been out of the country a fair bit.

Well, having just looked on google groups, I see that he and his sidekick
are still rather tiresomely obsessed with me, and that means they stay in my
killfile.

I am, as I said, both surprised and disappointed in you, and this post of

Thanks, the condescension is appreciated. Perhaps you might care to offer
useful advice on EBay outages in future, for example, hm?

I have never suggested you were racist. I do, however, think you are
choosing to start an argument with me for some strange and insane reason
that is frankly beyond my comprehension. Unless it's because you actually do
believe I'm someone I'm not, of course - or I am some sort of substitute.

I've tried to remain reasonable with you tonight, but you've tried my
patience too much. Go and find someone else as a target, I'm not answering

Er no, I was an area manager. The funniest thing ever was, I was going to
offer/suggest TOC help on any parts he needed, prior to him becoming a
tosser, because he seemed to like Honda motorcycles and Honda makes
lawnmowers as well as 2 & 4 wheeled vehicles and that is who I used to work
for.

So no, tit face I wasn't a 'salesman'. But yes I did hit reply instead of
relpy to group in OE. I disappeared a year ago because I dropped ebay, and
needed to concentrate on other revenue streams and didn't want to spend my
time arguing with tits like yourself. I now have things sorted and have
more time to respond to dull cunts like yourself.

I wouldn't dream of treading on your toes by repeating the same
information which you have, also provided by eBay themselves.

I shall continue giving whatever advice I can to other eBay users
which they may not be able to find easily, if at all, from eBay.

I don't pretend to have all of the answers, but I'll help whenever I
can.

It's a real shame that some people have hijacked this newsgroup for
political purposes.
I hope that you will not allow this either.
