So you bought this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330372693235
and they sent you the wrong item. How on earth did it cost you nearly a
tenner to send back? Also, it is quite clear that return carraige was
your responsibility.

See, now you are being silly.
The item you claim that is back for sale is, I presume, this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220451984928
Have a look at the history on the rhs side of the page and look at when
it was first listed.
Personally, I would have avoided in the first place based upon his
feedback.

Forty-one neutrals or negs in the last six months? Jesus, so would I.

Try Googling before asking a damn silly question.

It does state that, yes - reasonable if the punter's just changed their
mind, but do you really think so if the seller has clearly and
unequivocally sent out the wrong item? I'd absolutely expect my return
costs to be covered under such circumstances, and wouldn't hesitate to
do so myself if I were the seller.

If it's the wrong item, it's the seller's problem and their responsibility
and cost to arrange the return. It might almost be considered unsolicited
goods......
Feedback left by gadgetland suggests that the OP wasn't that being too
co-operative in email exchanges.
I've messed up before by sending the wrong items to two people. I asked
them to send them on to each other and I covered those costs as well as
refunding the original postage to each buyer.
Got glowing feedback for both items which was nice.

Heh. I've done *exactly* the same thing. Couple of years ago.

As did I....
Just a little update ive got ebay on the case and I have pointed out
that I think the company are trying to get out of selling me the item
I won at auction because it didn't make what they were expecting. They
sent me a free view dvd player when I won a free view/hard drive pvr
.both units were made by different company's and as so it should have
been obvious that the unit I got was wrong. They may have been trying
to fob me of with the dvd player knowing their totally unfair returns
policy would leave me out of pocket .as I said before and I was not
being silly, they could have filled a box with anything they wanted
ebay only understands tracking numbers if you have a tracking number
they back the seller,no room for discussion.I have had a refund that
proves they sent the wrong unit but I am not a happy bunny about this
.the company has a 99%plus feedback with sales in the thousands so I
would expect the odd item to be faulty but the way they deal with
complaints is only apparent when you have to try and claim.I am going
to badger ebay about this and will not let it rest, a bit more support
from this forum might help to get their unfair conditions regarding
return postage amended.
Jesus!
How about trying that again?
This time try drawing breath and using paragraphs.

Oh yes, ebay listens...
<laugh>
>what about this for crap service I bought a freeview box/recorder they
