There has been some discussion lately of the lack of postings
to the uk.org.bcs.* groups and a suggestion made that the groups
should be closed. (see uk.net.news.config for details).

As moderator of uk.org.bcs.announce (and creator of the original
uk.bcs.* groups) , my own view is that low traffic groups do no
harm, but can serve as a useful "safety net" or "meeting point"
when required.
Usenet is a community resource, your views on this are vital, please
post them as followups (set to uk.org.bcs.misc).
