This newsgroup is for discussing the regulatory framework in which
the Internet operates within the UK, and the roles of ISPs, statutory
authorities and other organisations in maintaining and enforcing that
framework.

Advertising

Once off pointers to material relating to the regulation of the
Internet in the UK are allowed.

Binaries & Formatting

Encoded binaries (e.g. pictures, compressed files, etc.) are
forbidden. Such material belongs on a web or FTP site to which a
pointer may be posted. Cryptographic signatures (e.g. PGP) may be used
where authentication is important and should be as short as possible.

Although this announcement took almost another 24 hours to appear in a
posting.

FWIW, the group received its first spam (the alpha-posted "go") before
7am today :-(

That was my fault, I didn't actually re-connect to news until this
evening due to a surprise visit by a friend just after I sent the
original. There's an deliberate hour gap between the two.
