As far as regulating them, it is impossible. Trolls are a necessary part
of the population, like scapegoats and idiots. Exterminating them will
only cause other normal ordinary folk to have to mutate and take over
their roles.

In any case, one man's troll is another man's humourist. Although if I
could locate that man I'd pass on my commiserations.
The best you can do is ignore them. It's not really all that
difficult. We ignore worse things on a daily basis I suspect.

Killfiles help, but only because they save a bit of time.
Treat it like channel hopping on the TV. Scroll through, and if it
looks interesting read it. If not just move on.
No big deal. We don't have, nor should we expect, to like everything.

many posts it gets them and filters out the messages before they appear. It
tacks a sort of "do not display" message to them. Most ISPs use the software
otherwise they'd be overwhelmed with crap in the newsgroups.
