Has anyone else had an email from Gradwell beginning:

"As you know, we are always looking to improve the service we deliver to
our valued customers. With this in mind, we are launching a new voice
control panel, designed to enhance your user experience, and improve
ease of use."

They then give me this link to click on to see what the new control
panel will look like:

http://go.pardot.com/e/17942/r-VoIP-New-control-panel-2016-/8khplz/458252847

Which would all be fine, except for the fact that - though a Gradwell
customer - VOIP is not among the services that I use them for. So I've
sent an email to support asking for confirmation that I should never
have been sent the email. I suppose as long as they don't start charging
me for my non-existent VOIP service it doesn't really matter.

Yes, I received that; and I ceased to be a Gradwell customer some time
ago. I simply clicked on the Unsubscribe link, because I simply can't
be bothered to take Gradwell to task any more for their multiple
inefficiencies.

I queried the email, and have had a reply saying:

"The email was sent to all customers irrespective of services utilised
for some reason. Please do ignore this."

From what you say, that's not strictly accurate, and it was sent to all
customers and at least some former customers.

I had one too. Judging from the response, it confirms that <G> has
become everything he set out to oppose when he led a relatively small
group of us into an independent service in the Nineties - a faceless,
sprawling, ignorant and inefficient ISP.

I eagerly await departure soon, if only I can persuade my computer
consultant son to get started. He is dragging his heels, hoping I will
abandon Turnpike and he can seamlessly merge me with his dozen or so
clients into a Godaddy-registered, Outlook-centred cloud with
near-automated controls. He hates non-standard TP, as he has stumbled a
couple of times in the last decade trying to make it work.

The subheading of this response is "More Weirdness from Gradwell"!

No I did not receive the above but I have just received an email
beginning:

"We contacted you recently regarding the launch of a new and improved
voice control panel. I am pleased to confirm that the migration has
been successfully completed."

That must be the email I didn't receive.

Today's email ends:

"Thank you for continuing to choose Gradwell as your trusted
supplier."

Er no, negative, not true; I stopped choosing Gradwell last year.

Now, I don't bounce mail and the email address I used for all
communcation with Gradwell is active. Today's email is to that address
but with the added prefix "deleted". It looks genuine down to using my
old Gradwell account number so I suspect it's some sort of wheeze on
the part of Gradwell. However, to err on the safe side I have not
followed any of the links embedded in the email.
