Has anybody heard of Electra Direct, they were selling Nokias and other
electrical goods at trade prices via their website
http://www.electradirect.co.uk/ , like an idiot i unfortunately sent them a
cheque for some goods and have never seen or heard from them since!

Their website is now parked (whatever that means) and they don't reply to my
emails.

Any information, help, advice, etc, would be gratefully appreciated!

Well, probably of little help really.

According to whois.nic.uk (Nominet), the domain "electradirect.co.uk" is
registered to "ISION Internet plc" and has been since 5-12-2000. ISION can
be found at http://www.ision.net.uk.

You could try searching the database on the Companies House web site at
http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk. There is a free search facility (albeit
limited) which may help you track them down. Be prepared to do some
research in terms of address, other names that the company may have traded
under. Finally, you could also go talk to your local Trading Standards
people.

I did a search on google.com on the phrase "electradirect" and got a number
of possible links to www.newsgate.co.uk (which I'd never come across before
but looks like a sort of dejanews type site). Anyway, from what I can
gather there has been a thread running on uk.adverts.telecom.mobile about
Electra Direct....seems like you're not the only one they've upset.

I think that you may have to simply put the affair down to experience.

HTH a little! :-|
