Any suggestions as to why the post is not appearing despite being
approved and whether I should repost it?

I don't see it in the queue.

If you repost it, I'll approve it now and check it appears.

I've approved it, but it looks like it has been "eaten" by the
moderation software post approval and hasn't propagated (I certainly
can't see it via Individual.net's server).

Sadly, that's beyond my capability to assist you with it although
hopefully those that know the inner workings of the moderation software
better than me can proffer an opinion as to why it might have been eaten.

In the past, strange characters in the subject have caused issues but I
don't know if that is relevant here?

Sorry that I cannot assist further at this stage. :-(

Regards

S.P.

If Martin can send me the post by email (the address on this post works)
then I can take a look and see if I can work out what about the post is
causing it to disappear. (It isn't the case that all posts are vanishing,
so it seems likely that there must be something special about this one.)

Try a different subject line. You may have a non-ASCII character in there,

This is true - the "hyphen" after "Ballon flight" is in fact
U+2013 EN DASH so that's almost certainly the problem. Either
turn it into a minus sign or replace it with a colon or something.

I routinely compose my posts in Word and then copy'n paste into Forte
Agent. From time to time, I have had issues with MS characters in the
title but Agent usually throws a hissy fit and refuses to send. In
this case, the only obvious candidates in the tile are a hyphen and a
question mark so I've removed both of them and posted again. If that
doesn't work, I will email you the original.

Yes, that would be it (and, sorry, I see I have a note of the
news-server rejecting it for the invalid Subject: line).

That worked, was likely the hyphen in the title as discussed
else-thread.
