Posting to ULM from abroad

Is it true that I can send an email of a post direct to the moderation system
if I wanted to make a post whilst abroad and I had no access to my newsreader
system?
If so, how should I do it please?

It's technically possible, but requires a fairly good understanding of how
to configure your chosen email client.

You will need an email client which allows you to add a Newsgroups: header.
Assuming yours does, then the header will need to read:

Newsgroups: uk.legal.moderated

Then, to get the message to the moderation system, email it to:

uk-legal-...@usenet.org.uk

Additionally, if you want to make sure that your message threads correctly,
you need to ensure that it contains the correct References: headers as
well. Although most email software which allows the inclusion of a
Newsgroups: header will do that by default (since those which don't thread
properly are likely also to be the ones which don't permit advanced header
control), it's still likely to be a problem if you're reading ulm via a
different source (eg, on the web) and copying and pasting it into your
email in order to reply.

If the above doesn't make sense, then please don't ask me to simplify it.
Instead, if the above doesn't make sense, then, for, you, the answer to the
first question is "No, it isn't true" and the answer to the second is "See
above".

Does the system you would be using to read the group (either to see what to
reply to, or to see what replies your post gets) not allow you to post as
well?

I would have to read from Google Groups. But I have decided it is all much too
difficult.
