In what way did the Spice fans successfully "fight back"?
Steps split because they could see the writing on the wall, they could not
get anymore No.1 singles even in "pop vacuum" land.

Why don't you leave the analysis to someone who knows something about
the group? Claire wanted a solo career (foolish, but I can't stop her),
that's why she quit. The others wanted to have a go too.
