it certainly looks a bit like him.
thanks

Likely to be Rick Price.
BTW, Roy Wood was on top form on Sunday at Jasper Carrott's Christmas
Cracker. He had a 4 piece band - plus an all girl horn section of about 6
who sounded great - horn sections can often sound so naff, but they were
bright and sharp.
Other highlights were Roger Daltrey on top form - a fine voice and a sound
guitarist too, the Hollies, with Carl Wayne of the Move installed as lead
singer (but what had he been doing for the intervening 30 years?), Gerry
Pacemaker turned up for a quick Never Walk Alone, as he does, Jethro was
there, in _relatively_ clean form, Counterfeit Stones opened with an
excellent set, a very good cover performance, Leo Sayer who was in
astoundingly fine voice, Procul Harum's lead singer (who's name escapes me)
was in fine voice (but God, did he look OLD), Ocean Colour Scene (or a pair
there from) did a too short acoustic number which did two things - must buy
some OCS and must improve my guitar playing!
3 hours of entertainment, cracking night, no performers were paid.

Charidee nite?
BTW: Procol Harum's lead singer/pianist was Gary Brooker.

Yep, £20+ per seat at the NEC Arena and nearly all of it straight to where
it was needed.
I suspect that quite a few of them treat it as a meet the mates Xmas do.
Gerry literally did the one song as his performance. Roger Daltrey had only
practised with the band for around 20 minutes or so (and had just flown in
from LA) yet was spot on - very impressive.
Oh, forgot to mention surprise act. A young girl who before that night had
never performed live with a band or orchestra (English Symphony Orchestra) -
Victoria Beckham. I have to say, (as something of an expert on modern pop
singers having been to one Steps concert) that she sang well. Her big
mistake was forgetting to leave the stage after her couple of songs and not
really knowing what to say to escape. Clearly her agents wanted a safe
audience to try her out on. Funny thing was when Jasper introduced her there
was a total silence of disbelief, everyone wondered what the joke was.
Four years ago at the last cracker the only duff performance was Vanessa
May - her big mistake was to go down into the audience with a dozen bouncers
to fend off the thousands of people who stayed firmly rooted to their seats.
Then they had to "wait to clear a path pback to the stage"...

Though old - in fine voice - quite ghostly really.

Are Lemmy and RP really that easily confused?

Eh?
Allan Clarke was the Hollies' original lead singer. CW joined
comparitively recently.
Do you mean AC or CW?
If you mean AC - and he hasn't been gone from the Hollies for that
long - then IIRC he's been in self-imposed retirement after a short
solo fling after the Hollies. I seem to remember him being interviewed
and saying something to the effect that he was going to take a long
break after so long spent gigging and recording.

He *is*!
Still going strong in Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings, too.
Worth checking out are his 80's solo albums - two of 'em IIRC.

Phew........OCS.
Not a fan, I'm afraid.
I lost patience with them when a) their music began to repeat itself
and b) when their tosser of a lead guitarist started to diss the "old
school" of guitar playing, when all the time he rips them off and
never plays an original note.
Steve.

Carl Wayne has been singing ever since leaving the Move (in 1968?), though
not with the commercial profile he had with that group. He has appeared on
TV quite a few times; AAMOF, didn't he have a studio "residency" on "Pebble
Mill At One" or something similar from BBC Birmingham? He has been active in
cabaret, and at one time (at least) had become quite a MOR singer (as had
Paul Jones before founding the Blues Band).
And, IIRC, Carl is married to someone famous, though I cannot remember
who...

Something (actually:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,3604,180089,00.html) is reminding
me that it was actress (and fellow Brummie) Susan Hanson, who was in
"Crossroads" (the soap opera, not the movie).
