Hello,

Anyone got any experience with these? - looking for a cheapish upgrade for
one on Junior's acoustics.
Local emporium has them at £55 and £75 respectively.....;

Sight unseen/untested.....head says humbucker, heart says single coil....;

TIA

Do you want a more "acoustic" sound?

If so, the single-coil is more likely to deliver (just like a Telecaster can
be made to sound like an acoustic more easily than - say - a 335).

Thanks JN

Yes, more of an "acoustic" tone - but was thinking about issues with stage
lighting and hummmmmm (?)

I see that, but you wouldn't buy an SG instead of a Strat - assuming a Strat
was what you wanted - because of lighting, would you?

I had the Fishman, never used it and sold it after a few weeks due to poor
string-to-string balance. Now I wouldn't buy any soundhole pickup that
didn't have adjustable pole pieces, and my choice has been homemade (strat
plastic bobbin type with the alnico slugs moved/removed as necessary) and
Baggs M1 active.

I've also recently been experimenting with full- sized humbucker and
iron-pole P90 sound holes pickups. Both are fine if you want a warmer jazzy
sound, they sound like a good piezo/preamp system (ie Maton AP4) with most
of the treble wound off.
