Hi
with my guitar (which is prolly totally out of tune since i tuned new
strings all by ear) the 4th fret of the g string sounds different from
any other note.... when i hit it its just got this heavy solid sound,
as if the string weighted three times more, and the body of the guitar
resonates (or lack of resonation rather) is different.
the note also fades off quite a bit quicker than any other note. (even
on the same string)

whats up with that? it doesnt sound bad, just different from the other
notes

cheers

or better still http://www.bincsoft.com for G3C (was down earlier,
alternative download from http://www.tucows.com/preview/278836).

If the guitar is out of tune then you have probably got an unusual
resonance - not a worry if it doesn't do it when in tune.

I love cheap guitars, me. But I'm learning to appreciate expensive ones!

ill see if ive got time tonight... got pretty crap recording equipment
though it so might not capture it... probably the biggest different
(though still quite subtle) is the way you feel the note through the
guitar...

Does the same thing happen with the same note in the same, or different
octaves, on different strings?

Do you get the same effect if you play in a different room?
