As they say in The Matrix - I cant really explain this - you HAVE to see it
for yourself:

www.digimask.com

There is a free basic version, and if you only download one demo all year,
make it this one.

Had something similar done at a computer trade show a few years ago. They
had this booth that took a few photos of your head and built the model, and
wrote it on CD in a few formats, so you can put it in various games, like
Quake etc. Wasn't great though. They told us that they were looking to put
these booths in game shops around Europe, but I haven't seen any, so...

Also, for the game The Getaway, I think they used this Digimask technology
(*I think*, may have been a similar one) to do the characters speech.
Looked very good.

I should really be doing coursework, or something vaguely constructive...

Nah, I saw it at ECTS, but I expect they were doing the rounds. Did you get
one done? I must have the CD laying around somewhere...

Here's a fun thing:

Download this: http://www.digimask.com/downloads/digimaskviewer.exe (800k)
and install it.

Now download this: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/simpson1976/paul.dmk and use
the program above to open it.

It's damn freaky, I tell you!
