Its getting near time for me to buy another guitar and I thought I'd
like to buy a quality acoustic made in the UK.

Has anyone got a url for a definitive list of UK makers? I'd like to
start drooling soon. (I did look in the FAQ for this group.)

Off the top of my head I can think of:

Moon Guitars of Glasgow (made by Jimmy Moon).
www.moonguitars.co.uk

Williams Guitars of Carlise (Made by Hayden Williams).
www.williamsguitars.fsnet.co.uk

Lowden Guitars (now called Avalon). I think these are made in Northern
Ireland. They have started doing imports as well.
www.lowdenguitars.com

Fylde Guitars are based in the UK too. www.fyldeguitars.com

Hope that's enough to get your drooling started!

If you think you're cured of GAS, you're quite clearly
a very sick puppy. Go and look at all the listed websites;
that should do the trick.

Cheers,
Magnus (I want another Armstrong)

Don't forget Hugh and Andy Manson in Devon, www.mansonguitars.co.uk and
www.andymanson.co.uk. There's also a luthier called David Oddie down here
somewhere, someone I used to play with had a very nice acoustic made by him.

That JPJ three neck mandolin is just silly. (I need to laugh because I
was starting to stick to my monitor).

Hi John and all,

I'm organising a meet on the 18th of October for acoustic guitarists
in London; George Lowden is guest of honor, Rainsong guitars, Kenji
Okumura and Adrian Lucas will also be luthiers in attendance. Oh, a
slew of guitarists as well.

There's no charge, there's floor space for overnight and there's gonna
get one heck of a lot of nice guitars. Just a relaxed social event to
meet new people and play lots of guitars.

mail me liwe...@nospam.imperial.ac.uk
or call 07818446178

for more details.

Warmest Regards,
Terence
