I know there a few Yamaha XG fans here, any of you use the XGedit
software to edit the basic Yamaha sounds?

I need to get my head round it but I just installed it and it looks
terrifying.

When I first got an XG card I found this useful:

Thanks Andy. That walk through looks useful. I'll give it a try.

Jon,

I've got a Yamaha SW1000 sound card and used XG edit for a while.

If you have any specific questions, give me a shout and I'll see if I can
help. I now use something called XG Wizard which is similar, but has more
dials knobs etc.

Don't be phased by what you see. Look at it as lots of channels of the same
thing.
Each channel lets you chose your instrument, and other parameters associated
to the chosen instrument.
