Anybody recommend a good luthier/guitar tech in the North East of England.
I want to get my Mosrite professionally set up.
cheers
Graham
Without a shadows of a doubt: Alan Brason in North Shields. His work is superb
and he has a particular affinity for that sort of guitar (I had a Mosrite
Ventures model once - is that what yours is?).

Love the (non) Freudian slip there Jim. ;-)
I've also seen some of Alan Brason's work - his Hank Marvin clone "Strats"
are miles better than anything Fender have ever turned out.
Superb workmanship.

thanks very much for that. Didn't think we would have such an expert in
these parts. I live in south Shields so I foresee a short ferry ride in the
near future.
My Mosrite is the Johnny Ramone model, built by Fillmore Japan, who now own
the Mosrite name. Bought it because I play in a Ramones tribute band. I
want to get the action lowered because the relentless bar chords end up
giving me terrible pains in the wrist.
Thanks again

And just in case for whatever reason he doesn't work out, I know an
*extremely* good guitar tech in Haltwhistle (out past Hexham on the A69). Not
quite as near as the other side of the river, but not too far and a pleasant
enough drive!
Give me a shout if you need his contact details.

Ooo that's one of my favourite guitars, got any piccies of it and/or any
mp3s of the band? I've always loved the Ramones, Rocket To Russia is one of
the all time classic albums
Hey ho, let's go!

Yes, I know the model. A sort of stripped down "Tele to the Ventures Model's
Strat". I remember being surprised when I first saw pics of The Ramones with the
Mosrite.

The action can certainly be made very low on a Mosrite. My (Californian) Mosrite
out-fretless-wondered the Les Paul Custom. Best of luck with it. If Alan can't
do it no-one can.
