I lived there throughout the sixties. Still go there a lot to jam with
all my old 'teens' mates! Great place.

I always suspected I had something in common with you, Stewart, but I didn't
realise it was Pompey - I lived there myself from 1950 to 1965.
I'm glad to say I escaped though. Why?...
Well, let's consider a recent statement from a Royal Marine in the latest
conflict, who, when somebody likened Basra to Southampton, said something
like:
"Nah, mate, there's no prostitutes here and people shoot at you - it's more
like Portsmouth!"
