You Never Blow Your Trip Forever
I like gongs!
Peter:
If you send me your email address (it was deleted when you sent me those solo
recordings, I'm afraid), I'll send you a much better version of that audio
file, rendered into stereo, treated with a judicious amount of reverb and
edited for immediacy of playback - sounding massive!
Wilco, Jim, cheers.
Where did I put my woolly hat ?

'Twas then that The Hurdy Gurdy Man came singing songs of pyramid power. Mad

Treverend
I filed them under "weirdissimo".
Where's J Arthur Rank when you need him?
Frank A Muller
In about 1977, while I was at university, I was reading an interview
with Steve Hillage in something like NME. He was arguing for the
cessation of AC mains power in favour of DC. The argument went something
like this:-
"... and the alternating current induces fluxes which interfere with our
auras. Moving to direct current would improve our karmic balance and

Is it still on your woolly head? Or did you put it back over the teapot?
They were... But they had a few great moments and some cunning ideas.
I've never found anything convincing on YouTube though. Too
self-indulgent (among other things), I suspect.
Come back Bombardier Billy Wells...
:-)
George
Can't remember. I'll fly the teapot round the back of the pyramid to see if
it's there ;-)
Seriously, they had their moments, but has to be said, were a sofa short of
a livingroom.
Indeed - as in the immortal line: "Hang on, I'm just going for a swift J
Arthur..."

Pull the other one, George!

Francophiles prefer "quatre, sinc".
Or even cinq...
[the equivalent verb in question being 'branler']

Oh, here`s one now.
http://www.secretsessions.tv/videos/newton-faulkner/ might give you some
ideas!

Hadn`t really considered dreads but I`ll bear it in mind, thanks.
Hmmm, I hadn`t considered dreads but I`ll think about it, thanks.
I`ll see what my hairdresser thinks. Thanks.
Sorry `bout repetition, the first attempts didn`t seem to work.

this is closer to what I had in mind ( not the hair )
Corblimey!
If anyone's going to do it, you will, Pete - gong or no gong...
Look forward to it.
George
Thanks for the vote of confidence, George. I`ve not played it in
entirety before, primarily because I`ve not finished arranging it to
my satisfaction yet.(1st section OK, last section OK, middle bit,
hmmmm). Obviously it`s do-able as demonstrated by said video but we`ll
have to see what happens. Gong would be nice, Jim has donated a fine
example. Wayne`s World ensemble indispensable however, the credibility
and inner meaning depends on it. Hail Bri-anne.
I've known Pete for longer than either of us are comfortable with owning up
to.
I've seen him do this on a number of occasions - without the aid of a gong,
admittedly.
You will either:
1. Sit watching him in awe with your jaw on the floor
2. Sit watching him and piss yourself laughing at how ridiculous the whole
idea is.
3. Go and get another pint. Mine`s a Pale Rider if it`s on, please.
Ah, that'd be Steve Hillfish ("L", IIRC). There's some *fab* YouTube
footage of him on tour in '77 , with Miquette and Basil from Zorch (a
friend of mine) on VCS3...

Starts here:

My friend Basil is the chap with the dubious hat and the headphones (and
the flute). Clive Bunker on drums. French chap who I vaguely knew amd
whose name escapes me on 2nd guitar and gliss.
In around '76, I'd become involved... did some electronics work for
Acidica Lights, i.e. John Andrews, who was living in a secluded house in
Churt (Surrey) with Basil... who used to jam with Moonweed (aka Tim
Blake) from Gong:
<http://www.ems-synthi.demon.co.uk/baztim1.gif>
I was building an analog synth at the time... Tim wasn't hugely
impressed with my farting around with Basil's synth...
Which, IIRC, was around the time Fish Rising was recorded, with Basil
sometimes credited...
And there's this:

Steve
Made you think twice, did it...? :-)
Rog
Only if the middle section ends up as a reggae groove. Unlikely, I
would have thought.
No, it`s pretty straight, really. Not as flashy as Daryl`s but it`s
just about holding together. Will try some recordings over summer to
see what works best.
Well, submitted it to the matrix now so i`d better get down to it.
Try to post again (sigh ). Well, submitted B R to the matrix. Just
needs playing now. Gotta be easier that computers.
Seems the arrangement DOES work. However, question is...can I play the
middle bit without blood loss. Maybe it needs a few muppet moments to
detract from the struggle. MAMA,MAMA,MAMA,MAMAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It`s on the matrix. Fingers crossed.
