In the procedures established for maintaining the uk.* hierarchy
<http://www.usenet.org.uk/guidelines.html> there are provisions, where
there is a consensus and the proposal is straightforward and
non-controversial, to proceed by the "fast-track" method, so as to avoid
the necessity for holding a full vote.

I have now received a request to fast-track the following proposal:

delete newsgroup uk.media.tv.xena

This proposal will be activated no earlier than five days from the posting
of this notice (i.e. not before November 6th), unless there are
objections (of which six or more, or any one which seems to the Committee
to be well founded, shall suffice to halt the process).

Objections should be emailed directly to Control at
<con...@usenet.org.uk>.

Objections will be resolved by the committee (comm...@usenet.org.uk)

RATIONALE: uk.media.tv.xena

It has long been custom within uk.* to check for groups that are not
being used and then to remove them. By doing this we keep the number of
dead groups down increasing the chances that someone stumbling across a
group will find it useful.

An analysis of the posts to uk.media.tv.xena from 2013-10-14 to
2014-10-14 has shown that there were no posts in this period.

It is not the intention to remove any groups that are, or people
believe will be, useful going forward. If you are a user of the group
and feel it should remain then please reply to this and join the debate
on uk.net.news.config so I know not to press ahead with this.

uk.media.tv.xena is for the UK based discussion of US TV series Xena:
Warrior Princess.

The newsgroup will discuss episodes, characters and all information
regarding episodes of Xena: Warrior Princess shown on satellite, cable
and terrestrial television in the UK, as well as products related to
Xena: Warrior Princess that are available in the UK, and UK fan
activities. Information and discussion regarding future episodes will be
allowed but spoiler warnings will be required in the subject line.

Posters are encouraged to include spoiler warnings in the subject line
when including details of the content of episodes which have not yet been
shown on terrestrial channels in the UK.

Advertising of goods and services in the UK relevant to Xena: Warrior
Princess is permitted, providing that such advertisements are short (i.e.
under 10 lines) and not reposted more frequently than once a month. The
subject line should begin "ADVERT: " Advertising unconnected with Xena:
Warrior Princess or UK Xena fan activities is not permitted.

Encoded binaries (e.g. pictures, compressed files, etc.) are forbidden,
except for cryptographic signatures (e.g. PGP). All posts should be in

types of formatted text are not permitted. Binaries belong on web and ftp
