Here's an interesting curio:

As the series is gone from NBC, and there seems no sign of the fourth season
on UK or Irish TV at present, here is a (usenet exclusive AFAIK) description
of the final 2-parter.

EXTREME SPOILERAGE FOLLOWS

Source is official Warner Brothers International Television Distribution
literature via www.wbitv.com, with very minor tinkering by me.

SUDDENLY SUSAN

SYNOPSIS

"FINALE I"
#225521

After Susan (series star BROOKE SHIELDS) sells a well-written article to
another magazine, Ian (series star ERIC IDLE) panics and worries that she
will quit The Gate. He tries to woo her with compliments and convince her to
sign a two-year contract. However, when Susan coaches Nate (series star
CURRIE GRAHAM) during his television audition, the executives prefer her
instead. They offer her a prominent on-air cable TV position in New York.

Still ignoring Ian's increasingly lucrative offers, Susan accepts the New
York job. Unaware of Susan's decision, Oliver (recurring guest star ROB
ESTES - "Melrose Place") buys a house in San Francisco, hoping to show his
commitment to her. At first, Susan chooses her career over Oliver's dubious
attempts to resume their relationship. But when he proposes marriage, she
accepts. She remains at The Gate, where a desperate Ian has promised to
double her salary and clean her apartment every week.

SUDDENLY SUSAN

SYNOPSIS

"FINALE II"
#225522

( . . . Continued from episode #225521)

Although she is busy preparing for her wedding, Susan is glum. She regrets
rejecting the New York job offer. Blaming Oliver for her lost opportunity
and resenting his control over the wedding arrangements, she bickers with
him. Before the simple ceremony, Susan's co-workers give her small gifts and
express their friendship. Susan views an old videotape of her absent friends
Jack, Maddy and Todd on a television set.

Finally, for the second time, Susan walks to the altar--and for the second
time, she starts to flee before completing the ceremony. However, she
returns and asks Oliver to forget getting married for now and to join her in
New York instead. She regains the broadcasting job, and the couple promise
to stay together forever, wedding or no wedding.

Nice to see they've at least referred to her "absent friends" - especially
Todd.
That's more than Ellen even did.

So there are 22 episodes.. excellent. I'll be seeing episode 18 tonight
so nearly at the end.

Now for the spoiler I'd like to see....

I'd love it if Oliver and Susan did decide to get married but at the end
of the episode she changed her mind and ran out of the church. It'd
mirror what happened in the pilot and be a nice touch.
