RATIONALE: uk.media.tv.simpsons

It has long been custom within uk.* to check for groups that are not
being used and then to remove them. By doing this we keep the number of
dead groups down increasing the chances that someone stumbling across a
group will find it useful.

An analysis of the posts to uk.media.tv.simpsons from 2013-10-14 to
2014-10-14 has shown that there were no posts in this period.

It is not the intention to remove any groups that are, or people
believe will be, useful going forward. If you are a user of the group
and feel it should remain then please reply to this and join the debate
on uk.net.news.config so I know not to press ahead with this.


CHARTER:
uk.media.tv.simpsons

The newsgroup will discuss episodes, characters and all information
regarding episodes of The Simpsons shown on satellite, cable and
terrestrial television in the UK, as well as products related to The
Simpsons that are available in the UK. Some information and discussion
regarding future episodes will be allowed but spoiler warnings will be
required in the subject line.

Because episodes can be (and usually are) shown out of order there will
be no requirement to post spoiler warnings for episodes seen on UK
cable/satellite but not shown on terrestrial television. However, posters
are encouraged to include spoiler warnings when including details of the
content of episodes that are known to be scheduled for their first
showing on terrestrial channels (within the space of one month).

Short announcments of events relating to readers as well as short
on-topic commercial advertising is permitted; blatant off-topic
advertising is not.

Binaries are not permitted on this group, however references to FTP-able
material and Web URL's are welcomed.

PROCEDURE:

This is a request for discussion, not a call for votes. In this phase of
the process, any potential problems with the proposal should be raised
and resolved. The discussion period will continue for a minimum of 10
days, starting from when this RFD is posted to uk.net.news.announce
(i.e. until October 27th) after which a Call For Votes (CFV) may be
posted by a neutral vote taker if the discussion warrants it.
Alternatively, the proposal may proceed by the fast-track method. Please
do not attempt to vote until this happens.
