So who in the media drew the short straw? ie - where's Jonny?

There is a rumour going around (sparked by a tabloid I think)
that he's gone back home, chucked in his job as a fireman (which
was left open for him) and locked himself away a la Greta (minus
the cats) and descended into a mega-depression.
Much as you shouldn't believe such things (tabloid based
rumours), the depression aspect does rather fit his up-and-down
personality; Something even the BB psychologists pointed out
during the show IIRC.

Coming second was about the worst possible scenario for him, given his
reputation as a "professional" BB contestant.

PPS We need more "naive" contestants next time - like both (in their
different ways) Jade and Alex
PPPS Is that why Celebrity BB works so well? The contestants in that
aren't looking for fame, but are "naive" about the effect it will have
on their media profile...?
I don't really think Alex was naieve. He was playing the game
as much as anybody else. It also crossed my mind that Jade was
playing up to the cameras more than people think when she was
singing aloud when alone in the rollerdisco and taking her
clothes off so frequently on other occasions. She /has/ taken
her clothes off before for magazines after all (if that topless
porn I saw was genuine). Anyway, enough; a BB diehard is bound
to disagree and start vociferously defending their favourite
character who I just no doubt insulted (but couldn't care less
about - because it's only television after all). ;)

Probably. Celebrity BB should last more than a week IMO but
then I suppose charity does become a chore unless you're name
Scouse Craig and willing to sit it out for nine weeks.
There is *one* thing I'd like to see more of in future series of
Big Brother, and that is older contestants. That is - people in
their fifties and sixties. I don't think chucking the odd two
or three in with a bunch of twenty and thirty somethings is
going to ruin the appeal of BB (which we are so often reminded
about - is aimed at young people). In fact, Alex's Dad would've
been absolute dynamite as a housemate and would've made for
*very* entertaining viewing. Far more entertaining than anybody
in there I think. I'll never forget the way he reacted to Dom
Jolly when he asked him if he was a Tory. ;)

I read somewhere that Jonny said he was "too nice" to cash in on his "fame".
He did this whilst he was cashing in selling his story to Now magazine...

Here it is...
http://www.ananova.com/entertainment/story/sm_641516.html
Jonny told Now magazine: "If there are offers on the table I'd be stupid to
turn them down, but because I wasn't zany enough or more eccentric in the
house, I haven't had a lot."

But Jonny's "hilarious"! You could see that in the final minutes of the show,
when he told Kate "Right, when Davina calls out the winner's name, we're going
to spontaneously do a dance, and then spontaneously fall over. I'll probably
do a spontaneous impression of the Big Brother narrator during my interview as
well, and we will make sure it's spontaneous just as I planned it to be."

I watched BB3 - The winners story this afternoon and couldn't believe
how his Geordie accent had mysteriously toned down since coming out of
the house. No wonder he's got an Equity card. What a fake. Back to
sunken cheeked oblivion with him!

Alex had a certain innocence about him, it didn't sound he's used to
people fancying him or why the people he got on with got boos.

I always had my theory that Jade plays up to her audience wherever she
is and wasn't dependent on the cameras. Her announcing her lack of
knowledge in the way she did, like the Mother Teresa, etc conversations
wasn't deliberately decieving people, it was just something she was used
to doing all her life.

Celebrity BB was too much a novelty for me so I'd have gotten bored
after longer than a week. It's also annoying how the people that were
on it keep popping up and claiming how they understand how the
housemates feel.

I'd like to see a variation in age but I think fifties and sixties is
going a bit far, they would be a lot of tasks that were unfair so it
would give the task masters an even tougher job of coming up with ideas
and we know how well they did this year. Older people can still be
annoyingly bitchy too, I saw a couple episodes of Cast Away.
This year has been the worst age-wise, I hope they don't use Sandy as an
excuse to stick with just 20s next year. I don't by the "the target
audience is young" excuses either, I'm 21 but I don't want to see a
house full of people my age.

I caught most of BBLB this year, I'm still sorry I missed that one.

I just don't think they would group together so well if the range was
that wide, they would stick to people of a similar age. And it would
feel like it was all forced age experiment 'take 2 from each decade'..

Doesn't mean I think they're wimps, I know that my Mum isn't. But
seriously most 60 year olds do not have the physical strength of 30 year
olds. And it would be the house mates claiming physical tasks were
unfair.

It would definitely make them consider what some people would be able to
do. Don't treat this as my personal opinion, I'm just predicting what
would happen.

I wouldn't say older people 'usually' have more interesting things to
say, sometimes because of their ages means they can be very stuck in
their ways and less able to appreciate others opinions than young
people. If you take this years Sandy as an example then they can also
use their 'age' to claim superiority over people they just don't like.
