Can anyone remember the words to the Noodle Doodle song?

All I can remember is: "Noodle Doodle went to town with lots of
straight spaghetti..."

Please help before I go mad!

One may as well begin with Justin's letter to uk.media.tv.misc:

Shit man, you just sent me mad[der] by putting the tune back in
my head. I don't know the lyrics exactly and I doubt you'll
find them on the net, although this is how I remember it:

Noodle Doodle went to town with lots of straight spaghetti,
He picked it up and spun it round and round and round
And this is what he get-ty...

Noodle-doodle-doodle-doo-butterflies
Noodle-doodle-doodle-doo-houses
Noodle-doodle-doodle-doo-hamburgers
Eeek, noodle-doodle-man-says...

[Cue voice-over telling you why should by them]

My favourite childhood ad was for Um Bongo.

Way down deep in the middle of the congo
A hippo took an apricot a guava and a mango
He stuck it with the others and he danced a dainty tango
The rhino said I know we'll call it Um Bongo!

Um Bongo Um Bongo they drink it in the Congo

The python picked the passion fruit
The marmoset the mandarin
The parrot painted packets
Till the whole caboodle landed in
And when it came to sun and fun and goodness in the jungle
They all preferred the sunny funny one they called Um Bongo!

Um Bongo Um Bongo they drink it in the Congo [repeat till fade]

...
God I've been dying to recite that for years. Pardon the
abstract thought patterns that took me from Noodle Doodles to Um
Bongo. ;o)

Is there a site where we can find out what Noodle Doodle got-ee? As far as
I remember it, it was:
Noodle-doodle-doodle-doodle-butterflies
Noodle-doodle-doodle-doodle-houses
Noodle-doodle-doodle-doodle-sailing boats
Eek, Noodle-doodle-mouses.

Thanks, you've jogged my memory a little.

I seem to remember it being:

Noodle Doodle went to town with lots of straight spaghetti,

Twisted it a-roundandroundandround and this is what you get-ee

Noodle-doodle-doodle-motor-cars
Noodle-doodle-doodle-houses
<can't remember anymore>

Anyone know which one is correct so far?

I used to eat noodle doodles but always wondered why there were
wheelchairs in it. There were, believe me.

Gosh I do remember this! Now the chant is in my head. You're cruel.
And now you lead me - reasonably naturally - to Kia Ora and "too
orangey for crows, it's just for me and my dog". And now I've gone and
downloaded it. You're destroying my life and credibility...

Wasn't there more than one noodle-doodle variation? ISTR an
additional 'mix' with lots of different shapes the second time
around. ;)

Anyone else notice how dirty this advert really was? Swap dog to it's
female variant and you'll see how this advert was devised.
