Paul O'Grady asked Shirley if it was true she'd 'nearly passed out
singing Goldfinger'; Shirley said it *was* true and she'd recorded the
song over the opening credits with John Barry.

Shirley said when you see the revolving number plate on the titles, 'I
was singing "a spider's touch"' and the number plate turned ever so
slowly, lol!

At the end of the song where Shirley sings...

# He loves GOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLD!,

John Barry said,

'Keep going - the credits haven't finished yet',

and Shirley started going blue in the face and nearly passed out!

And Tom Jones also famously passed out while singing Thunderball. I
wnder if Mr. Barry got the message after that - his post-TB themes
don't feature the same loooooooong notes at the end, as far as I can
remember, with the possible exception of DAF.

LOL - yes, Tom must have suffered alright - Chris Evans idea that
Shirley and Tom could swap songs was a good idea - Shirley liked it!

They had something similar with the spoof film Spy Hard where Weird Al
Yankovic had to sing a really long note over the opening titles. I checked
on IMDB and he managed to do it in one. Probably the most memorable bit of
that film though.

<g> Missed Spy Hard - must watch it sometime!

Liked that cartoon where Timothy Dalton spoofed himself as James Bond
- Brendan Fraser played his son, IIRC!
