Haven't we already had this? Please don't say there's more to come?

By my reckoning, this storyline is the worst ever in the history of
Brookie. It's unreal, unconvincing and exceedingly boring. It should
be ended forthwith. Let Shelley and Lindsey sail off into the sunset
together if they must, but end this rubbish now. Please. Jackie
Corkhill is not a lesbian and never would be. Even Sue Jenkins has said
this and who knows the character better than the actress who plays her?

*****HIGH PRIORITY MESSAGE FOR PAUL MARQUESS*****
NOW HEAR THIS. CLAIRE SWEENEY CAN NOT ACT, HAS NEVER BEEN ABLE TO ACT
AND WILL NEVER BE AN ACCOMPLISHED ACTRESS. CUT YOUR LOSSES NOW AND GET
RID OF SOMEONE WHO IS ARGUABLY THE WORST ACTRESS IN RECENT HISTORY TO
LAND A JOB IN A SOAP.
Sue Jenkins has vehemently defended Jackie Corkhill's character, and
according to media sources, had a major fall-out with PM over his
efforts to promote the Jackie-Shelley-Lindsey thing. After all, Alex
Westcourt was tricked into the scenario in the first place. Now it
seems it's full speed ahead with some form of it. I must say, I've
never seen a storyline on Brookside, where the characters concerned
looked so uneasy. How humiliating for Westcourt, who increasingly looks
as though she wishes the ground would open up and swallow her.
If Karen Drury's remarks are anything to go by, how long will it be
before Sue Jenkins throws in the towel? Mickey Starke, Karen Drury,
possibly Stephen Pinder and Sue Jenkins ... seems as though Marquess is
trying to antagonise all his senior cast members into leaving, so he
can fill his programme with Barbie and Ken dolls and Wendy houses.

I must admit that Jackie Corkhill does not seem likely to become a
lesbian. There is a strange myth perpetuated in the media that lesbians
become so because they have been disappointed in love by men - if this
were so, then 99% of the female population would be lesbian.
That Shelley - what a ravishingly beautiful woman she is.
I 2nd that.

She looks like she needs to swallow something herself. She's wasting
away. Do they not feed her up in Liverpool? Someone down her needs to
take her away from the misery and back to the West End with all the
other luvvies.

This has just been completed on The Bill. Granted the quality of acting
and writing on The Bill is vastly superior to any period of Brookside
(apart from circa 85-87 glory days)and I have no doubt the characters
will be generally well formed and acted. But the cast just don't LOOK
believable and that's the problem. Add to that the fact that the
storylines in Brookside are largely risible at best and you have a
recipe for a scouse "Home & Away".
Hey, speak for yourself mate, don't lump the rest of us in with you!
