RATIONALE

It has long been custom within uk.* to check for groups that are not
being used and then to remove them. By doing this we keep the number of
dead groups down increasing the chances that someone stumbling across a
group will find it useful.

An analysis of the posts to uk.media.radio.bbc-r6 from 2009-07-01 to
2009-11-30 has shown that there there was 1 post in that period,
details of which are shown below.

CHARTER

This is an unmoderated newsgroup for the discussion of BBC Radio 6 music
which is currently broadcast via DAB digital radio, digital satellite
television (channel 911), and telewest digital cable television (channel
909) and globally over the Internet via its website located at the URL
http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music.

Topics reflect the programs broadcast on 6music and its wide range of
music.


Advertising

Commercial and personal advertising is forbidden. However announcements
of relevant events are allowed.

Crossposting is not permitted


Binaries & Formatting

Encoded binaries (e.g. pictures, compressed files, etc.) are forbidden.
Such material belongs on a web or FTP site to which a pointer may be
posted.

Posts must be readable as plain text. HTML, RTF and similarly formatted

PROCEDURE:

This is a request for discussion, not a call for votes. In this phase of
the process, any potential problems with the proposal should be raised
and resolved. The discussion period will continue for a minimum of 10
days, starting from when this RFD is posted to uk.net.news.announce
(i.e. until December 26th) after which a Call For Votes (CFV) may be
posted by a neutral vote taker if the discussion warrants it.
Alternatively, the proposal may proceed by the fast-track method. Please
do not attempt to vote until this happens.

This RFD attempts to comply fully with the "Guidelines for Group Creation
within the UK Hierarchy" as published regularly in uk.net.news.announce
