Is it just me who is finding the station formerly known as Five Live
sounding more like Radio Salford? As a 'national' radio station I was happy
for it to be broadcasting from the capital (I live in Sunderland by the
way). Interviewees are now often not in the studio, but coming down the line
from another studio in London. Presumably it is too much bother or too
expensive to get them to come all the way up to the northwest for a five
minute chat. This was a criticism of the move to Salford and it seems to
have been proved correct.

On a different note... do the producers/presenters of the various programmes
think that argumental conflicts on air make for good radio? If they do, they
are sadly mistaken. There is nothing worse than the presenter allowing
individuals (often politicians) to argue with each other, usually talking
and shouting each other down at the same time. Nicky Campbell is one of the
worst presenters for allowing this to happen. It makes for tedious radio and
often hard to discern what is being said when more than one person is
talking at the same time. I can only conclude that it is thought to make for
exciting radio... which it doesn't.

Come on Five Live... you are a 'national' radio station, not BBC Radio
Salford!

I'v noticed the M60 is getting more mentions than the M25 in the traffic
reports recently.

Britain runs a lot further NORTH than Salford, check a map, I live in
central Scotland by the way, National to me means U. K. not way south,
London. Salford is a long way south to me and my more northern fellow
listeners, e.g. Shetlanders or Hebridreans.
