The Dalai Lama is _not_ the spiritual leader of 488 million Buddhists.
Call him, if you wish, the spiritual leader of the Gelug Tibetan
Buddhists. 488 million sounds as if it might be the number of all the
Buddhists in the world.

Yes, I know the answer: I should somehow make myself care as much about
what the BBC broadcasts as the BBC does.

Just as 'beautiful' points the way for aesthetics and 'good' for ethics,
so do words like 'true' for logic. All sciences have truth as their
goal; but logic is also concerned with it in a quite different way:
logic has much the same relation to truth as physics has to weight or
heat. Frege in 'Thoughts' (Der Gedanke)

He's _not_ the spiritual leader of 488 million Buddhists. He's a very
naughty boy.

From what I've seen of the present Dalai Lama, I wouldn't be surprised
if he's familiar with the film and would be LOLing (LingOL?) as much as
I am now!
