Loved the new Mark & Lard feature, it was just like listening to BBC local
radio. ;)

Funnily enough, Vague News presenter Martin Henfield, used to be
Programme Director for BBC Radio Manchester in the late 70s :)

Yeah, and then he went on to run the place as BBC GMR. If you live in the
North West then you can see him most weeknights presenting the late regional
TV bulletin that's on after the nine o'clock news.

I actually missed Vague News today though...can someone tell me what the
feature is all about?

By the way, have you noticed the way M+L poach everyone based in the
Manchester regional newsroom to appear on their show? Kevin Boquet (North of
England Correspondent), Gordon Burns (presenter of North West Tonight) and
now Martin. I'm just waiting for the call to do my own cameo :-)

Cheers,

Rowan.

Unfortunately he doesn't work in the Manchester newsroom with me though
:-(

Though I can't wait for Judy Hobson from Newsbeat to appear, and we could get Mark Jones or Jonathan Hallewell from Five Live as well as they're all based in Manchester.

Hmm... Pardon me for asking but does a Linda Spencer work up in the
Manchester news room? I ask only cos someone I know said he heard
she'd moved from Radio leeds to Manchester...

Err, well if she does I've never met her! There's Lynda Smith who works
alongside me for BBC Regional TV here in Manchester, and there's an Angela
Spencer, who's one of the Occupational Health people in the building, but I
don't know any Linda Spencer I'm afraid!

Thats cos I got the name wrong. It was Lynda. Don't think it was
Smith though... Might have been a surname with a B... Anyway, its
completely irrelevant - someone just asked me if I'd come accross her
as he'd heard she'd moved to the Manchester news room.
