Chris Moyles - End to Saturday show??

On the Saturday show this week, Chris hinted that the saturday show could be
coming to an end when he said he would give away all the singing dolls at
the end of the run of saturday shows, then said "Am I allowed to say that?
Oh well I just have.", or words to that effect.
Does anyone know if this is true?
What will fill the slot?
Input please.

Not sure if its true, but he's been dropping a few hints about it recently.
Initially with the dolls he was going to hold onto them "until Christmas",
but as you noticed, since at least June (possibly earlier) he's been saying
the dolls would go "at the end of the run" of saturday shows.
To be honest, i think that there will be a new presenter for the 10am-1pm
sat show by September...

Dunno... Scott Mills perhaps ? Sarah HB ? Vicky Marsden ? Or maybe even
Jamie Theakston......
I would expect those are the most likely candidates unless Radio 1 sign up a
new person to fill the slot.

Emma B likes to nab as much airtime as possible, so maybe she'll have a
massive 6 hour show or something... ;) (I doubt it, somehow!)

As for the allegations of boring old fartery - nothing on the airwaves is
more boring as r1 these days

By taking some talented comedians' work and editing himself into their
material, as if this in some way made it more palatable for the
listeners. Yeah, I really want to hear Steven Wright or Emo Philips or
Tony Hancock being interrupted by some twat going "Oh really?" and
crashing their punchlines.
And he had taped laughter to play after his own "jokes", because he knew
fine well no one in their right mind would laugh at them anyway. I was
glad to see the back of him.
Apart from that, he was alright...

therefore presumably other R1 dj's of similar vintage), I wonder then er,
does R1 content still interest you these days???

how to put this... better than R1 in every respect

I'm not that informed, I've just been listening to R1 for years... If I
have the radio on during the day, it's R1 I'll listen to, yes, including
Chris Moyles. I even like Sara Cox. At night, I listen to John Peel
(force of habit - but he's still my favourite DJ), the Breezeblock,
Lamacq sometimes, stuff like that.
There's no current DJ I really hate, apart from Scott Mills, but I'm
usually asleep when he's on.
I still think it's a station worth listening to, it's not as if it was
consistently brilliant back in the 80's or 90's anyway. You've just got
to sort the wheat from the chaff. Plus it has no adverts. Can't stand
the ads.

I listen to the odd show on R2, I like Jonathan Ross, the Stuart Maconie
album show, and I'll listen to Janice Long too (for nostalgia reasons).
But I can't stand all new country shite, or oldies from the Eagles or
whatever they'll play during the day.
Mind you, when I reach 30, maybe I'll start waking up to Wogan, having
lunch with Jimmy Young, spending my afternoons with Wrighty... kind of
depressing, really...!

On The Carpet about Radio 1 a few months back, especially when he related
how DLT rang him during Danny Baker's first show to ask him if he was
listening, and Juste deciding that he *had* to put on the best show he could
in 'answer'. And that bit at the end with him looking round the old R1
premises. "It's all ruined..."
