Has anyone seen the new schedule at the R1 website? apologies if this has
already been posted, but here are the details:

Sundays:

7.00 An extra hour of GTGDP
10.00 Trevor Nelson

Mondays:
6.30 Lamacq Live
new four hour show focussing on live music, featuring Maida Vale sessions,
the old In Concert slot, the old Sunday documentary slot and some input from
Mark Radcliffe. ES and John Peel continue on Tues, Wed, Thu.

12.00 Breezeblock - extended to 2 hours, but now Mon, Tues, Wed only

Thursdays:
12.00 Andy Kershaw - wasn't there a huge row last time they shifted him
after midnight??

Any comments??

I thinks it's time that R1 put Kershaw to rest, surely a home can be found
on the increasing trendy Radio 2! More comedy to Radio1 - please

Hmm, are there really enough "dance anthems" in the world to support
3 hours every week? I used to like the documentaries in the Sun
evening slot. Nicer than dance music every night all weekend. But
weekends have been the letdown of R1 for as long as I can remember.

Sounds good. Especially as decent Monday night TV will be
non-existant as soon as they move the Simpsons (again).

On the whole, though, I wish R1 would mix the music up a bit more.
Having dedicated shows is obviously a good idea, but why not have a
bit more variety during daytime? Nearly all of it seems to be chart or
ILR-friendly indie / dance. If they're serious about differentiating
it from local stations, this is the acid test IMHO.
