Anyone know what's going one between Dave Pearce and Chris Moyles?

Dave last night, referred to Matime Mcutchenson's appearance on Chris's show
on Saturday as a fate worse than death.

Then Chris today said that he plugs all the DJ's he likes, then reeled off
every Radio 1 jock, bar Dave Pearce.

They have been having a go at each other for months.

They could do a Celebrity Deathmatch on MTV, that would be amusing. Only,
they might run out of plasticine whilst making *one* of the characters :)

What's that all about then? Remember when Mark Goodier, as the story
went, told Radio 1 that he didn't want to do the handover with Nicky
Brambles when he was on Drivetime?

Anyway, fight, fight!

Nicky Brambles, the guy who worked at Radio 1 for yonks. As Mark & Lard
would tell you there are other people who work at Radio 1 talking
inbetween the records like: Kevin Greenacre/Goodacre, Mary-Anne
Hobgoblin, Steve Lurpack, Jo Riley and Clive Warrington. I don't think
Jackie (Jakki, whatever) has been Christened yet though.

Shit, that's -twice- I've mentioned Jakki Brambles in one night on the
newsgroups. Help!

I'd say. Still, let's see, Moyles appears to have pissed off virtually every
R1 DJ, and none of the proper music presenters would take his side
anyway.... still, this is all a tad hypothetical, isn't it? :-)

Dave Pearce is just as bad. When he does quiz phone-ins and asks the caller
sone really hard question (like "What is my name?") and they don't know it,
he gives them about five minutes worth of chances to get it right. That
isn't entertainment - that's sucking up to his audience because anyone who
listens to Dave Pearce out of choice must be a complete fuckwit of the
lowest order. He daren't affend any of his fuckwit friends.

big shout my arse.

Are you calling me a fuckwit of the lowest order? How dare you insult me so

Also his "Mix Selector & Dance Anthems" requests are fixed. Apparently,
acorind to Mixmag, people ring up, then are offered a selection of tunes
to choose from. Completely misses the point about requests don't it?
Plus, despite being on tour now, the mix selector is DJ-ed one of his
"posse".

Shite if you ask me,

I see what you are saying, but even R1 can't really be expected to have
copies of all possibly requestable tracks, to hand throughout every show?
Can they :)

A bit, bearing in mind practicality.

If you mean "Dan the Man", since when was a secret made of the fact that the
"Mix Selector" isn't mixed by Dave himself. it's still a damn good feature
IMO - if anyone could see my dancing in my room each night !! :-)

Agreed. Pearce is the Antichrist and is ruining decent dance music. The
"Anthems" he keeps playing are usually the likes of the fucking Vengaboys
(which I note he is now doing the voiceover for the TV advert for their album
- called without a trace of irony The Party Album). All that "big shout" and
"yaay" does my head in.

I try not to listen but on the way home from work there's not much option
other than a mix tape. I always enjoy it during his rigged "requests" when
the fuckwits who ring in get the name of the tune slightly wrong - in some
cases they've clearly got no idea what they're asking for.

As for the clash with Moyles, my guess is that Moyles in common with most of
the other DJs (eg Mark and Lard who call him Gypsy Dave Pearce) can't stand
him, probably because he's a jumped up cheesy twat.

I'm always amused by the cheesy Ritzy clubs he always seems to be playing in
(frequently in Southend). No credible club would touch him with a bargepole.
When he came and played at Shindig in Newcastle as part of Sound City with
Pete Tong and Allister Whitehead, the sound mysteriously cut out during his
set, possibly because the club promoters had pulled the plug on him......

Isn't that what a record library is for? Besides, the "A" & "B" lists are
ghoing to be a lot closer to hand than the record library in any case.

So are you saying that when you are larging it in Da Hood you prefer the Gap

How about "all music"? and what do you mean by "decent" dance music? isn't
ALL dance music shite?

>fucking Vengaboys

good name

>I try not to listen

to quote chris moyles, "If you don't like what you hear, switch the radio
off, or turn over" or something. Sadly, he's right, there is no decent radio
station on the airwaves anywhere.

>As for the clash with Moyles, my guess is that Moyles in common with most of

Yes! absolutely! Did you see him on the Simon Mayo live webcast on Comic
Relief? He sat hunched in his chair, an evil grin on his face, hitting a
cymbal at all of simon mayo's "jokes" like a stupid dickhead. You could tell
that Mayo thought he was a prat.
However, I doubt that Moyles HATES the bloke, they're both just idiots.
Pearce is completely incompetent as a DJ (as is Moyles). His links are crap,
his laddish, clubber-shit-for-brains humour is awful, he mis-pronounces
names, he starts records that he clearly doesnt like so that the news ends
up interrupting the show about 30 seconds into the song. He clearly has a
slight speech impediment, which he cant be blamed for, but it really doesh
my head in: "Thatsh Vengaboysh on Radione", "thatsh Fun Loving Criminalsh on
Radione", "Shuper Furry Animalshhh" etc...

Mark and Lard are the best, and every other DJ sucks, like the crappy
station itself.
