SPOILER ALERT – This week's spoiler from the DF.
'Remember me! Remember me!' The ghost of Nigel Pargetter stalks the
subconscious of many an Ambridger at this time of year. The memory of
his final scream, as he failed to get a grip on the Lower Loxley
guttering, brings a tear to the eyes of his heirs, and a sense of
unease to the Widow Pargetter. Is sausage-fingered Vince Casey really
a worthy successor to the late Mr Snowy? While these sad thoughts
haunt the corridors of the Pargetters' stately pile, Ruth gets an
unexpected call. Pip reaches out to an old friend and Susan wishes she
could turn the clock back. Invitations to a number of events fly up
and down Ambridge; yours are probably stuck in the post, so just rock
up anyway.
(And a happy and prosperous New Year to one and all)

SPOILER ALERT – This week's spoiler from the DF.
The New Year sets a swarm of bees buzzing around inside many an
Ambridger's head. Jazzer sets things off when his unexpected news puts
a bee in his Scottish bonnet. Off Jazzer goes in pursuit of Jim to ask
the old boy for a favour, but Jim's not sure if he's up to the task.
Over at the shop, one of the volunteers resigns, adding to Jim's woes
and causing another resident to get the idea that working alongside
Jim and Susan is just the ticket for 2023. Then before you know it,
Adam – under his hygienic dairy-worker's snood – hatches a wheeze of
his own over at Bridge Farm. Meanwhile, Kirsty eagerly awaits the
arrival of a guest, an it turns out that this guest also has an idea
or two.

SPOILER ALERT – This week's spoiler from the DF.
A charming rover comes skipping over the hills of Borsetshire, across
the mighty Am and to the attention of at least one Ambridger. Rex,
who's suddenly in need of of a bit of Ambridge hospitality, keeps his
eye on this blow-in and does what he can to protect any soft hearts
and soft furnishings that might be at risk. Chelsea is far less
protective about Brad, who's been receiving a flurry of maths-based
messages from a possible admirer. Chelsea thinks her brother should
take matters to the next level, but Brad is wary. Meanwhile, Helen and
Lee – who head the long list entitled 'Ambridge's most unlikely
couples' – find themselves with bigger concerns when Lee gets a
worrying phone call.
(Another Erik?)

OP: A Rex/Kirsty rebound coupling when Erik proves to be just the
wrong-un Jakob says he is. (Did their parents have a faulty C key or
something?)

He knows that mathematicians do it in groups.

Perhaps the parents attended Keble Bollege, Oxford?

Unless it's really stiff when they work it out with logs.

SPOILER ALERT – This week's spoiler from the DF.
There were many who thought Brian Aldridge got away lightly after
poisoning the Mighty Am. He had to cough up a £120,000 fine, which was
on the low side for a crime of that magnitude, but was lucky not to
have been thrown in the slammer. The Forces That Control Ambridge
have, however, been harsher than the Borchester Beak, pouring a stream
of ill luck over the cravat-wearing cad. Now a slew of trouble is
heading his way, which will force Brian to answer testing questions
from his family. Elsewhere in Aldridge-world, Ruari proves elusive as
he broods on his bitter past. Kate has reason to celebrate and Alice
and Chris share – as they seem to a lot these days – a warm moment.
(Answering testing questions – Just where is Jenny? Ruari's sugar mom
causing problems?)

to start the week in Ambridge!

SPOILER ALERT – This week's spoiler from the DF.
Lower Loxley and Lilian have, over the decades, had a great deal of
renovation work done, keeping up a fine facade. Freddie is full of
hopes and ambitions for keeping Lower Loxley up to the mark, but
Lilian seems to have lost all interest in maintenance and is letting
herself go. Justin comes up with an idea to get a schedule of works
started – but is he just adding to Lilian's problems? Adam and Tony
get their own improvements underway as they make plans for their
edible forest garden, giving Adam a distraction from recent upheavals.
Meanwhile there's trouble over at Willow Cottage and Ruairi, defensive
about his family problems, is losing his grip on his unusual work
experience arrangement.
(Now what is Ruari going to do?)

Seriously with the money being spent on Gay Grables LoLo will need to up
its game - after all there are aspects (eg weddings) where there are
always new competitors (Brookfield).

SPOILER ALERT – This week's spoiler from the DF.
Buffeted by the ill winds sent by the dark forces that control
Ambridge, the Aldridge family struggles to keep going. One member
blunders around, crossing the boundaries between personal and
professional, while others are numbed by grief. Kate, though, feels
new energy coursing through her as she reassesses her life and plans
the future. While she steps on other people's toes, Adam must find a
way to break bad news to Xander. For some reason, Adam thinks the lad
would be cheered up by a trip to the River Am; probably best not to
mention the mass fish poisoning carried out by Brian not that long
ago. Meanwhile, Lilian keeps her distance from certain members of the
family.
(Oh dear. Sounds depressing this week.)

SPOILER ALERT – This week's spoiler from the DF.
Brian broods - as well he might - over his cavalier attitude to Jenny.
Marriage was, for her, often a pillowful of tears; gallantly, she'd
dry her eyes and soldier on, making the best of things. Now, racked by
guilt and grief, the ageing widower can't bring himself to organise
her funeral and scuttles away at the sight of any Ambridgers offering
him a shoulder to cry on. The only person Brian really wants to deal
with is Ruari who – as we all know, but Brian doesn't – has his
reasons for being evasive. As the family wade their way through a
somewhat polluted lake of bitter tears, other villagers doll
themselves up ahead of Valentine's Day, while Freddie cues up tracks
and gets ready to play Cupid at The Bull.
(A normal week in Ambridge then)

SPOILER ALERT – This week's spoiler from the DF.
Soon, Ben will crunch down the gravel path to the Laurels. He should
be very, very careful. Many an Ambridger has taken that shrub-lined
route, never to be heard of again. While he gropes his way through the
strange mist that surrounds the Laurels, Brian stumbles towards a new
life. He hangs around with Roy and Kirsty – perhaps a little more than
they would like – and is on the receiving end of some brutally frank
advice from Adil. He also hosts a dinner party, which, without the
culinary skills of Jenny, may prove a challenge for both Brian and his
guests. Meanwhile, Susan, keen to both help out and butt in, gets in
on the funeral arrangements, which will set Jenny whirling in her
grave – once she gets in it.
(I wondered where Adil had gone.)

SPOILER ALERT – This week's spoiler from the DF.
It's time to join the mourners as they totter up the path to St
Stephen's for Jenny's final and unusual farewell. Brian, having
shilly-shallied over sorting out her funeral, seems as reconciled as
he can be to his loss, but a sartorial quandary makes him realise just
how much he relied on his much-wronged wife. While Ambridge mourns the
dead, Ben soldiers on, up the gravel drive to the home of the living
dead that goes by the name of The Laurels; he is paying a high price
for his moment of madness with Chelsea. Meanwhile, Freddie and
Noluthando team up. Tony and Lillian have a talk about grave matters,
and Sergeant Harrison Burns dreams of a different way of life.
(A busy and tear-jerking week ahead)

I hope Freddie and Nolly get together. I thought they were going to
before she went back to SA.

SPOILER ALERT – This week's spoiler from the DF.
Jennifer, as we all know, had a past; now, boxes of that past are
spilling out all over the present. Brian's approach to his late wife's
belongings has not gone down well with Adam, so now he and Ian have
taken on the task of sifting through Jenny's stuff. There's one box
that's of particular significance for Jenny's various offspring, and
one item that sets Adam's mind racing. Freddie is also sent into
overdrive by an intriguing find at Lower Loxley, while Helen - and
this will get you all on the edge of your seats – has EXCITING PLANS
FOR THE DAIRY!
Let's still out beating hearts on that one and turn our attentions to
Lily, who has news for Elizabeth, and Kate, who has a surprise for
Brian.
(I was hoping Brian's words would encourage Kate to keep SH)

Nah, Kate is Kate! If she gives up the ‘business’, she won’t relinquish her
rights to the land will she? Covenants be damned, they have never worried
Kate - she can make a huge gain by flogging the land for um, …. well, her
imagination could run wild! As I am sure can that of many Umrats……. Over to
you….
