Im using a Yamaha 795a Amp and Tannoy M1,M2,M3 and Msub setup. Would I
notice a big difference if I changed the speaker cable that was given to me
by Sound & Vision to some decent Gale XL 315 cable? or maybe something else?
Anyone got any recommendations to go with the above setup?

I noticed an unbelievable difference when I changed my cable from super crappy
to the Gale XL189 (99p a metre from RS). Then again, I did change my speakers
from Yamaha NS120 (?) to a similar setup to the above (Mx3s, Mx2s and mC) at
the same time. To get the 315 cable in my room would have cost an extra £40,
and I thought it probably wouldn't be worth it, especially since I only have a
Yamaha 396 receiver with spring clips on the rear and centre speaker mounts.
Maybe I should have gone for the thicker stuff on the fronts, and used the 189
only on the surrounds? I dunno.

But previously I had the Yamaha speakers on the super super crappy cable that
came with them. When I upgraded the cable on those (well, the fronts and
centre, anyway) to a less than crappy cable (I had some lying around), I did
notice a big improvement in clarity. I think.

IMO, the189 is fine for the setup I have, but I may go down to RS and borrow
some 315 if they have any to lend, and test it out. What the hell, they're both
What HiFi best-buy cables, aren't they, it's a matter of how much money you
want to spend.

I've got that in my bedroom (the XL315-2). Never used to believe the cable
hype - then a friend demo'd some stuff he'd bought. The 315 made a /big/
difference compared to the rubbish I had been using.

Have had to settle for XL160-2 for the living room though - couldn't
afford much more for a long'ish run :/

Still not convinced by the hype regarding interconnects, but with speaker
cable it def makes a huge difference.
