>Hi Gary

This is from another retailer, so you may think
my point is biased...

The product was clearly offered for sale at the price agreed - YES?
or you agreed a price with the salesman - YES?

You did not specifically ask if the purchase price included a stand .
You were NOT mislead into believing a stand was included in the purchase price.
You were very happy with your purchase until you saw another TV with a stand.

If these facts are correct, the retailer has done absolutely nothing wrong.
He may, and I say may, if you speak to him, be able to offer you the TV you've
since seen a a cheaper price - then again he may not.
But you can't blame retailers for everything.

Sorry.

Gary,

Can't speak for that particular model, but I'm fairly sure that when I
bought my big Sony a few years back the stand came in a separate box. Give
them a ring - they've probably just forgotten to include it in the
shipment.

Phone them again and ask for price for the tv.
When they tell you ask if the price includes a stand.
If it does then start complaining.

Just to confirm my pal bought his 32fx from them(SDB) and it came with a
stand. He didn`t ask if the stand was included either. My 32fx also came
with a stand from electricity plus without asking either.
I think it`s fair to say this model is supplied normally with the stand ,and
i agree with Simon they probably forgot to include it.
Good luck PeterB.

Yes. Ask them to come back to your house with a stand.

When I rented a Philips 32PW6322 (32" WS NICAM-only), I had to ask for the
stand, which they then brought out of the van. Otherwise, they'll just keep it
for the next customer.

I didn't need a stand since the TV sits on a cabinet such that the TV is at
head height. However, since we've just moved in, the cabinet is used as a
table-cum-storage facility for all the crap we have no room for :)

Advice yes!!
Talk to SDB before this NG, get your facts straight first and come here with
all the information. It sounds very much like you think you've been ripped
off, maybe when you find its a simple mistake you'll apologise to SDB via
this NG too.

I took delivery of a 32FX60 on Saturday. I paid a deposit for this at the
beginning of the year from Colchester Sony Centre, and at the time tried to
negotiate a discount for *NOT* having a stand (it wasn't large enough for the
kit that I intended to buy over the next 6 months or so) - but was told that
the stand was part of the TV package and could not be separated.

I suspect they've simply forgotten to ship it, or that the shipping company
has misplaced it?

BTW, with a Sony S7700 via RGB scart the quality is amazing!!!

Yesterday I posted the message displayed below. I called them this
morning asking what the situation is with a TV stand.

He said that the price did not include the stand and this was why the
price was so cheap. He DID say to me at the time ordering the set if I
wanted to order a stand for £150. At the time (in my blind eagerness) I
just thought he was offering me a specialised stand as opposed to just
the bog standard one, I of course said no.

I'm not too bothered about not getting a stand, I'm more annoyed at
myself for not asking the right questiones before handing over my hard
earned cash.

I'll know better next time...

:(
