Hi there,

Looking for a good £1k AV processor / pre-amp (not a receiver or power amp).
Can't
seem to find one, I'm looking for something to partner with the Linn 5125 5
channel
power amp, their own processor is 5K !

Thanks,
Roy.

Swallow your pride, get a reciever and use the pre-outs. My local
Sevonoaks currently has a Denon AVC-A1D for £599.

The Sony TAE9000ES is excellent if you can live with 5.1. With the
latest software it has a phantom mode for 6.1. I have lived happily with
it for a couple of years. The remote isn't very good though...

Should be available for less than £1k

Why not dump the Linn amp, and buy a Denon AVC-A1SE, or even the
brilliant 3802?

I think these are listed at linkonline for around £500 but I dunno if
it's in stock or able to be in stock anytime soon. They're showing the
matching power amp too.
